Culture Transition - How we adjust to change
All change begins with an ending or some form of letting go to accept the change. Intellectually, we accept change, but emotionally, we may still resist that change. So what are some of your strategies to assist you in 'letting go' of one thing to grasp on to another? When relocating to another country, state, city or town?

Being in the Now
These days people feel they don’t have enough time. This causes a lot of stress and unease. ‘Multi-tasking’ often leads to reduced concentration and mistakes – which then take up more time. Some become so dispirited by their ‘to-do’ list that they put things off, hoping it will be easier another day - or unnecessary if left long enough - and so the list gets longer… When time feels like this, everything seems an effort. Yet there are people who do a lot but don’t appear to be busy; they are carefree. How do they manage that? The secret lies in how much we understand and value ourselves and time. Blend in with locals when you travel
From USA TODAY
Blend in with locals when you travel
No man is an island, but sometimes when you're traveling, it can feel like it. Mannerisms, timing and dress can set you apart from the local population, making it difficult to successfully immerse yourself in a new place. Yet with a bit of research and some strategic adjustments, you can easily find ways to blend in, rub shoulders with locals, and become a true piece of the continent you're exploring. Dress the part To blend in, you'll need to look the part. Before you pack, have a bit of fun scouting online for current dress norms and styles in your destination. Find local street-style blogs, search photo sites like Flickr using location tags, and browse country etiquette guides, which usually mention dress codes. Even when you can't quite pull off local dress, say because you don't have a salwar kameez on hand, you can make sure to dress in the spirit of the destination. Is modesty prized above all? Then leave the shorts at home. Do people take a lot of pride in their appearance? Up the formality quotient.

Discover Something Different
To discover something different, try visiting a different place weekly. It does not require you to go out of town but maybe a bike ride or a walk around your neighborhood. I traveled about 10 minutes from my home and discovered one of the best doughnut shops in town rated by Diners, Drive-ins and Dives' Guy Fieri. What a great discovery in my own back yard!
